Roles
For second quarter we will be holding literature circles on every Friday. Each group member will be responsible for the following roles at least once throughout the quarter. Members will come to class on Friday with the required information for their weekly role, and will share with their members their findings. Each group will keep a cumulative folder, which will be graded weekly.

Rules
- Put your pencils down! No writing during discussion time! Take notes AFTER group member is done discussing!
- Use your notes as a discussion prompter. Instead of going around the group circle and reading what you have written, occasionally consult your points/questions as a way to jump-start your discussion.
- Only one person in the group should talk at one time. Maintain ONE discussion as opposed to starting two or three different discussions.
- Respond to your groupmates! Look at them when they talk, ask follow up questions, make connections, answer questions, etc.
- It is okay to disagree with someone in your group! Challenge one another by offering specific evidence of your viewpoint. The objective is to create discussion, though, not to be confrontational.
